On January 13, 1913, twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University in Washington, D.C., founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Their commitment to education and public service established the foundation for a sisterhood with a purpose beyond the college campus.
Through community-based programs, the Sorority supports individuals and families locally and around the world. Its work connects the pursuit of knowledge with opportunities to serve, advocate, and strengthen communities.
